I handed in the A3 poster to PY yesterday - they said they'd put it up that day: Could someone just check they've done it? (I think @SRD you can almost see it from your window?? :)

Just off to do more now.

Good work everyone :) Keep it up :D

    Thanks SRD!

This evening we postered along the water of Leith, from here to here in strategic places. We've pretty well used up all our posters etc - although I was given about 1000 fliers, so still got plenty of those left :) Tried the big ASDA - no notice board, and only one bike, on a fence (not really clear anyone would use the wheel-bending bike-rack). Gave a couple to the gym nearby (they might get put up).

    Just an update:
Posters put up along the first part of the innocence (from the top of Dumbiedykes slope to Duddingstone Road West), a couple near King's Haugh, ~Bridge-end allotments. Redone in/near Harrison Gardens (including one or two along Shandon Place - e.g. outside Margiotta). We didn't put up any more along the Meadows as there seem to be a fair few - although we should have put some up on the traffic light-crossings.

Lots more bikes flyered: In the town centre yesterday and all over today :)

@SRD: PY had the A3 poster in the window by the door - so success :D Zazou's got the one I gave him in his window. The ones along the canal don't last more than a day before being taken down.

@SRD/POP-towers: I know I've not volunteered to be a helper on the day, but if you're short of people, let me/minimoth know.

Good luck all! Next year we need a smart-phone app which people can push a button to indicate that location has a poster - that'll let people at POP HQ check publicity coverage.

i'm off to Germany for a couple of weeks, but hats off to all you hard working POP Tarts, and hope it all goes well on the big day.

Next sunday also clashes with the big nibali / evans / wiggins showdown on the Col du Galibier, but I'm sure there's a eurosport pub somewhere near Holyrood...

The ones on the railing by the slope in Harrison Park were gone this morning but 2 others along the canal (in undisclosed locations) have survived :D

I've put up some at the traffic lights on the West side of the Meadows - not sure how long they'll last. And one at the meadow walk "cross-roads".

One guy I spoke to took a handful of fliers to hand-out himself and he said he'd seen "loads" of posters. Keep it up people :D

minimoth and I haven't had a chance to do the NEPN or further down the WoL, so we'll need backup, up there. Also these posters often have a very limited lifetime (before being taking down), so we might need people to go and re-do the bits we've done.

How's everyone else doing? 6 days to go! :D

  8. Posters put up along the first part of the innocence (from the top of Dumbiedykes slope to Duddingstone Road West)

Saw one half-pulled off a tree - others may have gone, will double-check tomorrow morning. Last year that section was notorious - I think I put up three separate sets of posters!

Good work all. For various reasons I've not been able to be active on this at all this year - but will be there on the day (and will get round to flyering the work bikes - there are some in the bike park here that still have flyers from last year attached...)

Would be great if you guys could do some chalking on that path, and maybe hand out leaflets at rush hour one or two days this week?

I can laminate more if needed. and provide chalk.

    So that's official then!

    Keep it up.

I understand that the bikes at RBS Gogarburn were leafleted today.

...of course this may miss out the bikes belonging to people who looked out of the window this morning and thought 'I'll take the bus'...

I await with glee the local residents getting up in arms about "cycling related graffito" on the East Parkside mailing list. We had one resident this week insisting that we petition the council to close off the tunnel after 6pm till 8am because of the people who JUST CAN'T BEHAVE THEMSELVES.

(we've been having issues with drummers gathering at the far end and rather than it being a quiet place to practice it mainly just amplifies the drumming...)

Also I hope to spend some time flyering those coming through the tunnel one morning this week although work schedule is once again beating my attempts

I've done some WoL and NEPN and Innocent and Silverknowes and McKelvie Parade chalking. Might have time to replace some tonight. THANKS, RAIN.

    Thanks wingpig :D
I'll look out for it :) hope the rain didn't zap it too quickly. I've spotted POP chalk in several different spots around town - can't remember where they all were. I've definitely seen POP in at least half-a-dozen places (that I didn't put up :). And my bike's been tagged: Good stuff :D

@SRD: I'm going to have to come by for some (lots of) A5 fliers to hand people on the canal or maybe the meadows, in the next day or two. How many do you have left?

@Lionfish, There should still be qtys of flyers at both EBCoops and Laidback bikes. I also have about 200 left that I can give you. I was going to hand them out at a popular spot on Friday afternoon.

Laid Back is low on leaflets now. I took some to Evans and The Bicycle Works as they had run out.

    Have a few A4 mini-posters.

The posters I put up on the slope near the canal, and at the bottom of Harrison Gardens (diagonally opposite) were all taken down. I don't think it's the canal-people, as it seems the POP posters were taken down but the others left (e.g. the one at the bottom of the gardens was next to a poster about a plant sale that happened a week ago, the plant-sale poster's still there)...so that's a bit annoying: Will try to replace them tomorrow.

minimoth spotted a couple along the NEPN, but maybe need more there :)

I'd say over 50% of people I speak to now know about POP2 (although I speak to people near where I've been doing fliering! bit of a confound). The handle-bar fliers seem to work really well (compared to the posters) - but I think both are important. Good stuff! I'll try to make sure I do some people-going-past fliering towards the end of the week (once I grab some a5 ones from SRD).

@shugglet - I'll let you keep those, you'll hand out 200 in no time :)

Thanks all for this. Lionfishy - I'll let you know when my supplies are replenished. Pity about the HP ones being taken down (i have my suspicions as to who it is...). maybe you could do some chalking on those paths too?

the three key places for leafleting that i can think of are: MMW, NEPN - 5 ways or 7 ways?, and the canal - lift-bridge or aqueduct - would be great if we could get people on those Thurs/Fri or Saturday. Especially if the weather is decent.

@Lionfish/SRD - I put a poster up yesterday afternoon on the bridge that crosses from the WoL to the Canal over Lanark Rd. This morning it was gone. However the Innertube Postcode Challenge poster that was in a similar position a couple of weeks ago lasted much much longer (probably officialy sancioned tho). The paranoid part of me thinks PoP is being deliberately targeted! It was a poster in that location last year that meant I heard about PoP 1.

The good news is a poster has appeared (wasn't me!) on the fencing at Ed Park station, so there is at least 1 poster on my commute route. Thanks to whoever that was.

Hi friskiffla, yeah: I'm getting paranoid too.
I figure if the poster gets taken down we just put another one up!! Maybe a bit annoying/expensive but as you say, in key locations it's worth having one up, probably even just for one day a lot of people would see that one. Thanks for postering :)

I'm seeing them all over, sometimes in the most unexpected places!

Saw quite a few posters on NEPN at the weekend. The ones I and others put up at RIE seem still to be there.

I have lots of leaflets again. if anyone wants some to pop into pigeonholes at work, hand out to parents at schoolgates, or strategic spots on the bike paths, please let me know!

@POPScotland please remove your posters from the railings outside Sciennes Primary school please.

I think he's objecting on the grounds that political posters shouldn't go on a school railings. Not worth annoying people (especially as Sciennes should be on board anyway) so it might be better to remove those...
