Mainly for my own amusement I spent a wee while at one of the points on my commute where lane-changing motorists often pose a hazard. The results were... interesting:

    Slightly obsessive yet? ;-)

Wow that is worse rate than I thought.

Another issue is people indicating to move/turn left while starting the maneuver and continuing regardless of obstructions. "But I indicated..." are words I have heard while getting off the ground on a number of occasions.

"people indicating to move/turn left while starting the maneuver"

99% of motorway indicating is like this. I.e. as good as useless.

Perhaps Dave could adjust his figure to take account of such indicating?

    "But I indicated..."

Amongst the most infuriating behavior I've ever encountered involved people using their indicators in the middle of truly atrocious driving. I can't think of any better example than what happens at this sort of junction:

99% of drivers do seem to grasp the point that if you want to go left, you go in the left lane, and indicate left, and if you want to go right you go in the right lane and indicate right. But there's always one that upon seeing a cyclist smack in the primary position in the left lane just has to go in the right lane and then indicate left with their nose sitting ready to left hook you as soon as they pull out. Bonus points for the fact that they're also preventing you from seeing oncoming traffic from the right and also preventing said oncoming traffic from seeing you trapped in there.

It's not much of a surprise to note that this was a taxi is it? God knows what the people behind were thinking about it.
