    Hi,

A friend of ours has a very nice Mercian Superlight racing frame from the old days which he'd like to sell on.

It's in very good condition (although I'm no expert on old steel frames), so let me know if you know anyone who might be interested, and I can pass on details?

    ta,

I've always fancied a Mercian. Good reputation for build quality and paint job.

Simple truth - if they want the best price - is probably put it on ebay.

    (What size is it?)

Yeh if you could give us an idea of its size, age, and perhaps what they might be looking for it. An audax mate in DB has a few Mercian's and may be interested if its the right size.

    Hi all,

Apologies for delay, I've been away touring. The frame is mine. It's a 1976 superlight with a 22" top tube and a 23" seat tube (bb centre to top). Colour is bronze with gold and silver highlights.

My Dad used to race on it and I inherited it a few years back and haven't got around to doing anything with it. It's in nearly immaculate condition with the only blemishes being a couple of marks under the top tube where it was hung by string in the garage.

I've also a pair of lightly spoked wheels on campag record hubs, a similar era. Like noted, probably best to stick on ebay - but I fancied trying the local approach first!

I'm based in Loanhead if anyone fancies a look.

Good golly that's pretty. I don't know whether to be happy or sad that I've just blown my budget on something nastier and more modern.

Happy because I can't afford to build it up in the manner it deserves, sad because good golly it's pretty.

    Stunning eh?!

I was tempted to build it up myself, but I also inherited two others and there's only so much space at home!

Found a few spare minutes and popped the frame on ebay along with various other bits and bobs. Will be a good haul for someone looking out for a classic!
