@wornoutmumhack @edinburghpaper Panic premature. 'Employability might not be the right funding stream for a project we all value greatly.

I hope the Engine Shed is not closed. I would like to know what the people who work there think. They don't seem to have been consulted. The cut-off for retaining funding seems to have been arbitrarily set at between zero and two people into "real" jobs. Is there an ethical dimension to the jobs found for people. Would a job slicing Greggs bread and putting it in bags really be better than one baking organic bread at the Engine Shed? Panic premature perhaps but why create panic amongst vulnerable adults at all?

Petition to save the Engine Shed.

Been at such seminarsninnengine shed and they are good (one seminarian could not eat vegetables which wasn't good for her).

Operates very well as a training institute but I guess after your three years there you have to makenwaybfornother trainees. Real jobs are very hard to find.

Excellent! It's a wonderful project, and the produce is superb - now they have a stall at the market on Saturdays I always stop off get some bread and hummus (now where was that thread about cycling and being middle class...)

I wondered if a crowd sourced funding type campaign would work for this. Needs a big name behind it though. Worked for the food café on Rose Street at Christmas.
