It is finally bookable the Coastal Night Ride is on!

Starting at 23:00 from Leith, Edinburgh’s first organised Coastal Night Ride (approx. 40 miles) will take place around the night of the summer solstice, and a full moon. We’ll be cruising along the coast from Edinburgh through scenic East Lothian, led by an experienced ride leader. There’s also a yummy breakfast available at the end. Leith Cycle Co will be providing mechanical support on the Night Ride. You can also book your bike in for a discounted tune-up the week before, or rent one of their bikes for the night (contact Leith Cycle Co). Tickets: £15 including hot drink and light breakfast (over 16 only).

    Who is going?

  2. Possible (will be at the Highland Show all day before that, so legs will be walking tired, but sounds fun). What's the end point/route? (not mentioned on the listing). Estimated end time? Distance? Estimated speed?

(sorry for all of the questions, I think having that information on the listing would help people decide if they are up to it (you may have some people interested but who might think 'oh that's something for fast cyclists', equally there might be the likes of club cyclists who would like to treat it like a night race)).

This appealed when I first saw it in the programme but I am sort of committed to doing the Fife and Kinross CTC midnight run the following night. Don't think I'd cope with both and do what I want to do on the Saturday.

Sounds nice but I may be away that weekend. Funny thing is, if it's clear night, then the full moon and perpetual twilight means it's not going to be that dark. Now, a B road in middle of nowhere, in the depths of winter, that's dark! Might not get as many takers then.

Is there a max number of riders on this? I'm not thinking of the breakfast but the ride?

I have a ride planned for Sunday but it may not happen....
