    Solar power assist tandem

If anyone wants to see a non solar version of Guillaume et Angelique's tandem then come to LB bikes. Think they have number six.

Some very unusual machines leaving soon - see also hereFacebook - The Sun Trip

Lovely part of the world - most of my skiing has been done in the Haute Savoie.

Lovely scenery, great wee bistros and the local cuisine is right up my street - plus truly magnificent Beaufort and Tomme cheese, wine etc.

Makes me sick as I am typing this from my flippin office !

@ nelly I am just back from Isere Valley, those are the cheeses we ate, mthoughnthe Beaumont from same cows no same mountain is half the price.

    Still a lot of snow

The route balcon de haute tarentaise around 1200m is a lovely route prior to taking a climb.

On one of the ferme passes up to Beaufort I cycled passed the name Johan on a low wall. Spot where Johan Bruyneel missed the turn and went down the ravine

Gembo, yep lots of great - but tricky - cycling. I have a mate out there and his wife lost it on one of those corners - crash, memory loss, helicopter to hospital etc.

This 7500km event has now finished.

Video here showing the Solar Powered tandem they used. Was tough event (understatement). Entering Istanbul was hell from what I could pick up on their blog!

Angélique & Guillaume give a guided tour in French of their Quetzal solar recumbent here. They came fifth. Another Nazca bike arrived at same time in fifth place. Azub also had trikes bikes as did Hase with recumbents making sense over such a long course (plus having space for solar panels).
