    Hi guys,

tomorrow morning at 6am I'm heading off on one of my training rides but I'm REALLY bored of riding alone - IF anyone fancies heading south to moffat down via peebles and the beef tub then back via innerleithen then let me know.

It's about 115 miles or so I think (185km) and I want to average minimum of 25km/h+ - all in all I want to hit it in about 6-7 hours. (last time I rode this I averaged 27km/h and I barely broke a sweat down to moffatt riding with a buddy this time I plan a tougher push down into the wind and a fun blast back)

This will be a training ride and I will be pushing but I'm happy to do the majority of the work.

Know it's a niche ask but if you fancy it let me know!

27 km/hr is a touch quick for me over such a route and I want to see how my hip/thigh is settling down after a strain. Another weekend it might be possible but I suspect that I would hold you up.

Cheers for taking a look and appreciate the being honest :)

Hopefully when you're back up and running you can join in = I'm out saturday and sunday every weekend for the next 7 weekends!

  4. You have absolutely no idea how terrifying that pace seems and just how much slower I am....

It's been a long journey WC and not an easy one!

Also this looks ace in october: CX race thing in the lakes

Touch too masochistic/impossible for me, even if you were towing me all the way.

I'd normally be happy to join you but I owe my family some quality time so will have to pass this weekend I'm afraid. Ask again though as I may be able to join you in two weeks.

Amir, you averaged over that on the Bethany Sportive last year, and very slightly under that on the Ken Laidlaw.

ARobComp, I'd be tempted, but for the unseemly start time and the fact that I can't be arsed. Did you do yr Hartlepool ride the other month btw? Am vaguely thinking of riding down there at the end of August, but might have to train a bit first.

Certainly am, Mr A. And I'll be setting a much more sedate pace for us oldies.

@JP fair enough by that point I'll be back onto training for CX so maybe up for a few long distance bits! as for the ride in h'pool area I managed a good few 100km rides while there but didn't have time from work to be able to take a day to ride down to eother stag or wedding which I was pretty pissed off about. I really would have enjoyed those rides. I managed to get in a good amount of training anyhow!

    @uberuce - Fair play, It's a toughy of a route tbh.

@amir - once you're fit sounds like we;d ride well together!

@daveC - cool will give you a shout. If ever there is a northerly I've a route up to pitlochry and back that looks ace! will pick you up over the bridge!

Those of you who passed made the right choice - what a horrible morning. 3 hours of hell on earth being frozen, soaked and generally hating the ride. Coming back was decidedly better.

Anyway off to the bathgate alps with me.
