    Council slashes roads budget...because it's put so much effort into repairing them now that it can go easy for a year or two? :-/

    If the Council really wanted to reduce the cost of road repairs, it could reduce the level of damage by using the planning system to restrict the amount of parking in the city centre. This would reduce the traffic flows, improve the quality of life for people living in the city, and encourage active travel. A real win/win situation.
