Remember, for city bikes, it's all about minimalism and 'less is more'....except when it comes to spending money on them!
Comments are good for a laugh. For me, a city bike can be expected to perform the following functions:
*Be ridden all year round no matter how foul the weather - full mudguards please!
*Be able to cope with hills and headwinds even when I'm exhausted - wide range of gears essential
*Not shake me to pieces on the excellent road surfaces around town - no thanks to 23mm tyres
*Be able to carry heavy items for me instead of straining with a rugsack - perhaps there is some means of attaching bags to the bike itself...
*And, by far the most controversial, have some means of reliably stopping from high speed. I'm picturing some sort of hand operated lever that is capable of applying friction to, say, the wheel rims. Such a notion will have me excluded from hipster circles faster than you can say 'Clermiston Road'
