International newsagents in Edinburgh

    The Citycyclingedinburgh forum users have always struck me as a well-read, polyglot bunch, and what language could be more bicycle-friendly than French (although that's probably for another topic...)?

    Which leads me to ask the following:
    Does anyone know where in central Edinburgh I might be to buy a daily copy of French Newspaper L'Equipe?

    I'm looking to combine brushing up on my French with in depth coverage of the Tour de France.

    I'm aware of International Newsagent on the Royal Mile, but that's a bit out of my way - is there anywhere near George Street or on the Northside?

    Institut Français d'Ecosse
    Sitting in their library is one of the more calming things to do in the city. Not sure if their journals include L'Equipe but they may have a source.

    I'm told a shop in St. James Centre does 'international papers' - McColl?

    In theory any newsagent should be able to get them from a wholesaler.

    I know, Kim, but it's not the same as reading a newspaper, is it? I remain be a Luddite (until I can get an iPad...)

    Anyway, McColl's in the St James Centre did the trick. Thanks!

    I'm with you PS. I've got the l'Equipe app on my phone, mainly because the quality of sports journalism on the other side of La Manche is so much better than here, but it doesn't quite match the actual paper copy...

    Picked up the copy of L'équipe covering the pavé stage today - there's going to be some good cycling idiom to learn from that, I'm sure.
