  1. So I've got my fancy new dynamo front wheel, and it looks fab, and rolls really nicely. My query is.... Should I be connecting up the wires asap? Will rolling it store up electricity that will cause it to explode? Will I get a shock if I ride for ten miles then put my tongue on the contact points?

Are you planning to put your tongue on the contact points?

I imagine it is only generating with a closed circuit so you should be safe!

EDIT: While moving however, stick a light bulb in your mouth and see what happens.

You can apparently get a chunky shock if you biologically close the circuit of the dynamo whilst moving.

It's fine, having a light plugged in and switched off is the same as not having one plugged in.

  8. Already got the lights :)

A B&M pair, but can't remember the models!

You should put your tongue across the contacts while pedalling to get the real 9V battery effect.

Where did I put that video camera?

Don't think it matters if there's nothing connected. I have my lights switched off and nothing's exploded.

Don't leave it like that throughout the winter in case a salt bridge encrusts itself across the contacts.

Or even a salt replacement bridge.
