ok, so the two dont neccessarily go hand in hand ! Almost every day, on my comute, yes am still at it ! I see a few fellow cyclists, some , like me , in lycra, some even in hi vis vests, one or two in super dooper racing replica suits, on an expensive looking roadie ! NO ONE SAYS HELLO when i do so ! the roadie is almost always at the same place, and we both stop at a junction ! Pedestrians nod or whatever , when i am getting close, and even white van drivers let me across the road to continue using the shared use cycle route !
And as for the audi driver, sitting far too close to my back wheel, , so slow down edge into middle of lane,(downhill on a twisty unpassable section !)when we reach junction, lots of reving engines, i turn , and ask him ,you in a hurry mate? move back a bit and i might get out of your way ! very sheepish driver !
when i then asked him the same , in a hurry question when in the local supermarket, very much the same reaction, esp since he had his kids on bikes at the door !!!!
I see him often , now he even avoids eye contact and goes along a differnt route, ive checked, cause i was on a detour ! you can run ....................
still biking, still , (mostly) happy and wanting more !

I can't help reading this with the voice of the dog from Up in my head :-)

Maybe you have particularly grumpy cyclists on your route. I have one on mine who avoids eye contact with me. Most likely because they witnessed me losing the plot through the windscreen of a car that had just almost squished me.

Audi drivers seem to be either very good, patient and courteous, or extremely agressive and impatient. Maybe it is just because I can recognise Audis. Lots of cars are of type red. I used to think that Nissan Quashqais are very badly driven, but I think actually they're distinctive enough cars that instead of seeing a badly driven car I see a badly driven Quashqai (I don't care enough to go and find out how to spell it).

Is the new excuse instead 'the sun was in my eyes' now the courts appear to be taking a dim view (no pun intended)?
