Ahead of the Earth Summit in Copenhagen next week thousands, maybe millions, of cyclists will be riding to show their support for measures to combat the effects of Climate Change. (http://rideplanetearth.org)

The Edinburgh event is a re-working of the monthly Spokes ride.

    Might be busy...

Stuart wouldn't mind some experienced riders to watch out for others.
Best behaviour - none of the usual RLJ'ing or pavement riding ;)

Be down to Musselburgh then Leith for Lunch.

    Ride continues at 2pm.

Was well attended. Over 50 people turned out. Rode out via The Fort to QMU and then down to Musselburgh. Back into Leith for lunch.
Sarah Boyack MSP and Mark Lazarowicz MP spoke to the ride members (and others). An excellent lunch was provided by Out of The Blue

Suitably refuelled those that wanted to rode out to Cramond.

    Weather very good.

Thought you were going to be busy.

Couldn't go, don't have coloured top.

What I meant was that the ride 'might be busy'. Another example of my poor grasp on English.

Stuart had said it was a Heinz job (57+ varieties though it is normal to wear flourescents I've been told).

Your absence was noted. I assumed you were busy elsewhere.

Darren and I checked out the tram tracks on way back.

No we elected to avoid coming off as people were watching and pointing at the odd bike! (Darren has a Brompton now).

Didn't go on road beside Jenners so don't know about that sign. Think one at bottom of Mound is still there.

  8. Hi viz and helmets riding in connection with an event taking place in Copenhagen? Surely it should have been high heels and flowing jackets? (and that's just for the chaps...)
