Well done to ALL posters

I found some in Eastside last autumn after trying every other shop in town and finding nowt...
Boom! Cheers wingpig, gonna see if there's still someone around there when I'm heading home.
So I popped into Eastside and sadly no dice (or chainring spacers), though there was an entertaining drunk/high/not-the-full-shilling chap asking about bikes, and how much it would cost to get one. Guy serving him (ginger beardy bloke) had the patience of a saint.
Chanced my arm at Halfords (Seafield) later and, get this, spoke to a young Irish guy who REALLY knew his stuff. Didn't have any spacers, but knew exactly what I was talking about, pre-empted me telling him about having a triple and needing to move the middle ring inboard, and suggesting a potential bodge using 10mm washers. 'Depends how you want it to look' he said. Well, really I just wanted to see if that size of chainring would work as the sole ring up font.
Ergo, B&Q. Couple of packs of 10mm washers. Stacked three high to get 3mm spacing, the bottom two had to have an edge hacksawed off to fit the straight edge of the spider arm, and.... By jove it worked. Rode in this morning and no issues (other than the legs wondering where the granny ring had gone) - will check tightness again before heading home, but it's given me the chance to try it (and I think I need a ring with a couple less teeth to take account of more inclement/windy days).
So, hats off to Halfords.
You were saying about needing to loose a few teeth off the front chainring?? Just try some Danny Macaskill-esk jumps over the boulders near the castle. Worked for the front chainring, on my MTB!!
What BCD and how many bolts? I've a 39T 5-bolt 130mm doing nowt in a cupboard.
Ooh. 5 bolt, but I think it's 135mm, but I'll double check.
