It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Missed a TV being hurled out (through) a top floor flat window on Lower Gilmore Place This evening. cyclist who saw it flagged me down and warned me of glass across the road and potential falling objects. I think he had called the Police as it just missed him.
Didn't hang around to get a photo, but the road is pretty covered in sharp things.

I encountered it shortly after. A superb example, if one was needed, of defenestration. I thought it was one of those big wind-up radios, but maybe was a small TV.
Bit of a chore carrying the torpedo over half an acre of broken glass though. I saw some people, apparently possessed of super powers, actually riding right through the glass.
Are they possessed of super powers or just of Marathon Plus tyres?
Came through there at about 9:40pm tonight and the police had it cordoned off and most of the glass cleared to one side. Can get past it fine but If I'd taken a fast inside line round from Gilmore Place I may well have ploughed into two of Lothian and Borders finest by accident.
Another reason to open Leamington Road to two-way cycle traffic :-)
There was a lot of banging, grunting and a lamp flew out the broken window when I passed after 17:30. I alerted a nearby traffic warden thinking (perhaps naively) that any uniformed public servant must have an easy way to contact the police.
Seemed pretty much cleared up by the homeward commute time. No more glass than many of the nearby roads, anyway!
