I spotted a new blue cyclists/pedestrians route sign in Charlotte Square yesterday. It's next to the railings around the square, on the SE corner. It's only visible if you're coming along S Charlotte St from Princes St. It indicates the way to Queensferry, to the left along the south side of the square, but you can't get close enough to read it until you're committed to going straight on; by then you either have to go all the way down to the lights at St Colme St before you can turn left, or get off and backtrack. Who should I contact to comment on this idiocy?

There's a "streetsigns" category on Fixmystreet which will direct it to Clarence. Alternatively, Central neighbourhood team

Thanks - I've reported it on fixmystreet.

Got this response from Sustrans a few days ago (after I had chased it directly with them).

"If this is the sign on the lamp post at the south eastern corner of Charlotte square, then it is actually an old sign. However since the road layout change (due to the trams) more people have become aware of it. It isn’t well placed and we will reconsider cyclists’ movements and signage through Charlotte sq post tram work and subsequent road re-configuration (back to its original layout)."

How disappointing to hear they'll plan for cyclist's movements after tram & road re-configuration. Surely it should be part of the plan from the start!

"Surely it should be part of the plan from the start!"

    Indeed.

CEC is now taking the line that 'we'll wait 'till it's all over and then fix things'.

This attitude is understandable as one of the Tram problems was 'constant' changes to the details.

At least some small things are getting sorted.
