    He also has a Youtube channel that if you can get past the sweary language, contains some good technical presentations.
    Basically, creaking is due to misalignment, even with threaded bottom brackets and poor manufacturing tolerances, especially with carbon frames.

    Of course he sells a solution and you can spend up to £200 for a single piece bottom bracket and high quality bearings that fixes things for you.

    My bottom bracket is making a racket because the bearing race has crumbled. The solution is to get a new one and I will, in spring.

    My singlespeed's threaded BB has been creaking for the five years it has been installed. I could probably have tightened it more but then it would be more likely to be un-de-tightenable when/if it needs to be replaced.
