You have to book and be prepared to go to the lamborghini showroom at fort kinnaird. But it is free. Normally when linn do the playing an album they charge you a fiver. Also highland park doing a tasting and rox jewellery. All happening. They also normally tell you which album (Joni Mitchell Blue, Miles Davis Kind of Blue etc). Although very sceptical apparently it was as if Joni was in the room. I haven't seen her since that fateful night she was barred from the Doric tavern. This one is just REM

Had to Google. Sounds an intriguing night - though I have to admit, paying to go and stand and listen to a CD?

CD? It will be a FLAC file or some studio digital format. Think they've given up on the CD as being a bit limited.
Ivor never really liked CDs anyway and preferred vinyl - but only when played on a Linn Sondek!
I hear that Apple are re-mastering albums for iTunes. Don't know how that could possibly work in audio terms. Will work in sales I'm sure though.

I used to work with a guy who was an Audiophile. He had a Linn Sondek, a huge 1kW power Amp with WW2 valves in with a perspex top so you could see the glow. He had brick pillars built under his floor where he had directly mounted his Electrostatic speakers on.
It did sound good but was a bit out of my budget at the time, and a little over the top.

CDs are on the way out it vinyl will abide
The one at fort kinnaird is free and comes with a whisky tasting whereas the glasgow ones were a fiver. Linn putout their own artistes on every conceivable format except tape
