    Hello,

turning right out of Palmerston place into Chester Street - only for taxis, buses and cyclists, the surface there almost had me off my bike - I wasn't quite ready for the potholes. They don't look too bad on the picture, but if turning right there I normally take primary and cycle to the right of the really bad bits - last time I got shunted over by a taxi, which was my fault for not being clearly enough and taking the lane strongly enough, and I wasn't ready for what I had to ride over.

This may have been mentioned before - in which case apologies. This is the bit of road:

the left half of the lane is lethal in my opinion.

I'd go past the cathedral on the grass next to the footpath.

thanks for the tip - I tend to stick to the roads, but I'll consider it next time I go that way

Just beware Palmerston Place is one-way (south-bound) now.

But a lot sneak a quick left turn to get to Melville Street, rather than be battered by the cobbles on Will-I-Am Street.
