I think we've had similar threads - though perhaps more on specific issues (like Gogar Station Road - now being sorted!!)

I've mentioned this one before, but today it was 'coned off' -

    Time for some permeability

There used to be bollards, then a few years ago this appeared (tram related traffic management).

The cones suggest it's not stopping all motor vehicles, but it certainly inconveniences people on bikes.

    Fix please!

Whereabouts is this? Looks suspiciously like the quality street facility found on my old commute through Gayfrield Square. Huge waste of time wherever it is!

Isn't that bolted down with hex-head bolts? shouldn't be too difficult to remove a few feet of it at either end.

I mean for the council to do this. Not anyone here. Of course.

Why the yellow lines? If you can't drive over it, why not park alongside it?

Yes, perhaps you'll remember how long it's been there!

You may be able to remove a few but remember the police station is just up the street and they park along there so would very likely see you. Vandalisation charges??

Well - if it's coned off, perhaps sopmething is about to be done to it?

    Bonded and bolted, usually.

This was the view nearly a year ago:

Police cars used to be able to fit (just) through the old bollards, and it used to be a great cycling cut-through. These days, I presume the police just bump over the obstructing kerb?
Classic example of failing to consider not-cars when they replaced the bollards...would a 1 metre gap in the middle have been so hard to do?
