'Local residents say the prom is "strangely bereft" of buskers and other street performers and are appealing to musicians and performers to change that.'

Let's encourage music and cycling on the prom!

Careful now, someone'll equate that with Critical Mass!

    That's right!

Buskers are ok in themselves as they generally walk to gigs or drive in an 'unflashy' car (VW camper van with dodgy brakes?). By doing this they show 'solidarity' by knowing their place and identifying themselves with the masses. Musicians could be at risk if a minority interest like cycling was allowed at same time and I expect the police to enforce the no-cycling ban at this event;-)
Of course it may still be ok to drive onto the prom to get stuff set up... that's how it seems to work.

BTW - it might be a good event. Just that I'm fed up with 'one off events' in town rather than real progressive changes to improve how we get to said events.
