So I entered this little SIS competition called "Ask Hoy" on facebook a few months ago. They were looking for the best question to ask Sir Chris.
I asked
"Dear Sir Chris - We all know Rule 10 - "It never gets easier - you just get faster"
Just before your first olympics and the ones since. When you're in your last 100% training session, did you still feel that it hurt just as much. Did racing in the olympics still hurt the same?
Main reason I asked this is because I thought it was more interesting than "Dear Chris how much can you squat" and also because I'm interested in this side of the psychology of riding. I've noticed I have a much greater discomfort handling ability than I used to since being sat on the bike riding at 31km/h for 10 hours regularly.
So anyway mine was the best question and I won. I got 500 of SIS vouchers (useful for me as I use their product for racing and recovery after training) and I also get to.... have a training session with Chris Hoy at the glasgow Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in early september. He'll be teaching me some advanced sprint techniques and fingers crossed he'll accept my challenge to a sprint race.
Anyway I'm super excited and had to tell someone who might care! :D
