Seek out the Ormiston Yew tree, not far from the Pencaitland cycle path by Ormiston. It involves a few unsurfaced tracks, but is all rideable.
    A very impressive tree indeed.

A proper post in the Leisure Section!

    Pretty impressive tree too.

    Find it on Google Maps.

@chdot At this time of year I assume you don't want to picnic. That area is a bit of a cafe desert but there's a pub in Pencaitland and the visitor centre at Glenkinchie has a cafe. Winton House might have a cafe. Failing that there are shops in Pencaitland, Ormiston and East Saltoun.

Is Winton house the one that does the weddings? If so they were keen on feeding any group of cyclists that could give them some advanced warning. On days when there was not a wedding they were happy to give a free quided tour too. They said they just needed to know numbers beforehand.

"Is Winton house the one that does the weddings?"

    Presumably -

"Winton House has been renowned for its hospitality since the Earl of Winton entertained King Charles I. Corporate hospitality in its modern guise was launched in 2000 and is now a thriving enterprise with international recognition and acclaim."

though not sure how much they might charge.

Why not find out and lead a spring ride - Innocent, Pencaitland paths etc?
