Yesterday I was unfortunate to be behind a tour bus on Princes St. The fumes it spewed out were horrendous - thick, black, diesely...
This happens quite frequently, but on this occassion it was so bad I feel the need to report it. Does anybody know who I should report it to?

    VOSA? The Operator?

Spokes used to publicise the "Smoky vehicles hotline: 0870.606.0440" in its bulletins. (I found that in Bulletin 89 from 2004.) However it's not in the most recent bulletin so maybe the hotline has been discontinued? However a web search uncovers some encouraging possibilities including this VOSA form.

Given that any exhaust fumes are bad, I wonder what would be the threshold for worth reporting. Fumes don't really show up well on my video camera even if my eyes can see.

I do notice that Glasgow buses are worse that Edinburgh - older fleet. Sometimes if I have the chance I'll stop and say to the driver how bad the fumes are, I don't know what they do about it though...

Thanks K and cc, I have sent off the VOSA form cc linked to.
As you say i. "I wonder what would be the threshold for worth reporting", I have several times thought as I've gone along "that's awful I should report that" and then done nothing, but this was particularly bad.
I'm not sure if I'll hear what action is taken; if I do and say, they find the bus was dangerous with it's fumes, then I may do so again.
