"A thief stole a woman's purse while she tended to her husband who was having a seizure."
    ...

"The incident happened between 08:45 and 09:00 on Monday on the Union Canal towpath in the Wester Hailes area of Edinburgh.

Police said the couple had been walking their dog when the husband suffered a seizure. His wife had used her jacket to support his head.

The thief was described as being white, about 5ft 6in tall, of slim build with light brown hair.

He had two front teeth missing, a scar on his right cheek and was wearing a dark hooded top and grey jogging bottoms with orange stripes."

This was on Monday but at the tail end of the morning canal rush hour so there might be a cyclist who saw something.

Hmmm by the description he doesn't sound like the sort of person who'd do someone who'd do something like that.

More anti-social behaviour on canal - spotted a 4 wheel all terrain vehicle being gunned down the canal path about 5.20. heading westwards. anyone else see it?

I rang it in to the police, but spent 10 mins on hold. Don't know where it could come from/go to though. It looked two wide to get under any bridges or along the aqueduct.

@SRD To get police attention you maybe need to suggest that an evil unswerving cyclist had caused the poor lost fluffy quad bike to end up in the canal. They've have sent an armed unit within seconds.

I saw it being pushed slowly westwards through W Hailes at about 5.45.

I too wondered where he had come from - I was a pretty wide Quadbike.

Fortunately I met him at a very wide part of the path so got past without incident.

Oh, a quad bike - I was imagining a Range Rover! Still, not nice to meet on the towpath.

Btw, when I asked police if they would be upping patrols or anything, she said no, cause mine was the only complaint they'd received. So next time, please could all of you guys contact them too? Thanks.
