We've just had this come through at work. I think it's a UK-wide thing, rather than England. It's the first I've heard of it.

Does anyone know any more about it?

Is there any point to it (apart from advertising CycleScheme)?

  2. Hmmmm. Now I'd norrmally take part in this (well, by doing exactly what I normally do), but given I'll be on holiday I'll actually not be cycling to work on cycle to work day (and no, had never heard of it before!).

Hmmm. I'd have expected it to be part of European Mobility Week (http://www.mobilityweek.eu/join-us/faq/ ) - but it's a week early.

As it's done through CycleScheme, it will mainly be advertised through employers I think. In Dumfries we're using it as a hook to hang our bike breakfast on, but compared with Bike Week it's not as useful for local campaigns - no way of registering events, not much publicity help, nothing that's half as useful as Bike Week's free insurance. They seem quite nice and enthusiastic on their twitter feed though

Seen some bike retailers promoting it.

I've pledged, as I would ride to work anyway. Though it turns out I'm working at a school just over a mile away from my home that day. So I won't be doing an awful lot for the stats.
