    Started yesterday with an 'open day' at the Velodrome -

    Unfortunately this wasn't on the cycling section of the FoS web site and I only heard about it when it had already started!

    Seemed to be mostly ERC people and those connected with the Council in some way, rather than the hundreds(?) who actually want to try the track.

    If I'd know a week ago I'm sure I could have got 50 people or so along via CCE and various schools!

    I was even at a meeting on Thursday where I actually said 'the velodrome is underused' and no-one mentioned yesterday's opportunity.

    If the Meadowbank Velodrome has any 'future' it can only be if those who might want to use it are given the chance!

    Cycle Speedway, ERC Juniors and Triathlon events still to come.

    I saw the try Cycle Speedway in the printed brochure, but didn't spot anything about the velodrome.

    Wouldn't have made it along yesterday, nor can I make speedway event (Pedal for Scotland beckons), but I agree the velodrome opportunity could have been better promoted.
