Pleasance approach to cycling - for the Fringe

I all honesty, when it's busy in there a bike would be an utter liability to have to move about (absolutely while stopped it's not a problem, but you've got to get in and out), and there's bags of parking available (as I found out last week) at the sports centre just down the hill.

Agree with you on that, WC. I was there last night and it was bad enough trying to move through the crowds encumbered by a pint of beer. Dread to think what it would be like with a bike.
On a similar theme, waiting at the bus stop on South Bridge it became very clear where the council's transport priorities lie: four lanes for motorised traffic, two of which were entirely empty, and two narrow walkways overflowing with pedestrians and blocked at a several places by bus stops.
