Police: Lost bikes to go to Bike Station charity
I'm looking for a bike stand for my tourer, and have also never visited this place. Might pop along at lunchtime. I've read that there are long queues outside, is this still true?

CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!

Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Nah, not since they changed the selling times. They now put bikes on sale whenever they're ready, rather than just one day per week.
Good common sense from the police: better than an auction house in Ayrshire!
This idea has been around for ages, but L&B used to say 'have to be sold to get value for taxpayers'.
Maybe this is a benefit of moving to PS?
Might be in the interests of BS to see if any of the newer (or more distinctive) bikes can actually be returned to original owners. Most bikes have transfers from shops that sold them and bigger shops have frame numbers on their database.
Took a strole (metephorical = ride) to TBS at lunch time. Plenty of bike parking and a nice tool stand outside with a pump and Free Air!! Yeh I know Free Air!! What is the world coming to?? They had some New Dawes Kick Stands, cheaper than anywhere else online (in Edinburgh), and as my bike is a Dawes, its a match too!
Lovely.
