The sustrans route to ardrossan, if anyone cycling to Arran, goes through the bit of west Renfrewshire I grew up in, before moving to Ayr, about 10 miles from where this blog has reported poor infrastructure. Maybe twenty miles of decent off road track following old railway. Warning does stray into Ayrshire

Sadly, it's not even poor infrastructure, it's no infrastructure! (although I guess none can be better than poor in many cases...)
It seems like it's just not near anyone's agenda, and it's so frustrating - as I mention in the blog, so many distances travelled should be easily done by bike.
