Nice new red box on way into Balerno was made last night at 10pm

Was in the one at slateford yesterday and a motorcyclist pulled in to it and had a nice chat with me, parent of school friend of my eldest daughter.

Accelerated away from me but I caught her at chesser junction but decided not to try to squeeze between the bin lorry and the bike in overtake manoeuvre.

I don't really mind motorbikes in the red box but maybe they encourage certain drivers to risk a thirty pund fine. I wish the fuzz would do someone for tht.

The chippings were there when I cycled through on Thursday morning; but a lack of paintwork meant that the driver of the car that passed me on the way to the junction had no ASL to observe and so stopped right at the front white line. No problem to me, as I very, very rarely filter to get into that ASL anyway - there's no need at the time of day I'm going through.

Nice new tarmac going down, but why that particular bit of road, I wonder? From my point of view there are much worse sections.

They've just completely relaid about a mile of perfectly OK road in east Currie too. Must be a surplus needing burned off - right next to the shockingly eroded Donkey Lane too!

    This is Edinburgh.

Donkey Lane is privately owned (I think).

@fimm, far from worst but quite bad. the new surface was quite slick inthe rain

there is a wee river that will freeze across the new tarmac in a month or two, i have mentioned it to them

donkey lane is a river course now. probably property of baberton golf course.

@Dave I wish they could have spent some of their budget on redoing Cockburnhill Road. It's like tanks have been driving up and down it.

Again that road basically ransacked by water run off, despite the culverts of which there are many
