@amir - I had several punishment passes as I took primary on the way down Gilmerton Road this morning.
The bike lanes were bright white. It shouldn't be surprising that I'm not cycling in them. Not that punishment passes would be acceptable if the bike lanes weren't frozen, of course.

Shameless selfishness @frenchy. And they will have saved no time at all.

One of them was a school minibus. With oncoming traffic. I'm angry.

Wrapped up warm and quite enjoyed the brisk air. Stopped in Lidl (newly built, stainless steel wheel-benders) on my way home for vegetables and was immediately sweating like I was in a sauna.

@frenchy, that sounds very bad. Schools on holiday but play schemes for disabled children still running. So that is worse in my book.

To clarify, the minibus only had the driver inside at the time, I was mainly commenting on the size of the vehicle.
But it is terrifying that such poor driving is on show from a school bus driver.

@IWRATS The new Niddrie LIDL on the opposite side of the road? If so, there are Sheffields.
Posted 6 years ago # -
Suggest Lidl stock some birch switches and a nice snowdrift to roll in?
Posted 6 years ago # -
@unhurt that is IKEA
Posted 6 years ago # -
@gembo but @iwrats wasn't sweating in an Ikea?
Posted 6 years ago # -
He would be @unhurt if he was made to go right round both courses

Snowing heavily in S Edinburgh now.
Very wet, sleety, cold looking snow. Just as I have to leave for work.
Posted 6 years ago # -
At curriehill no snow no train either cancelled again

@wingpig
Excellent detective work. Where dem Sheffields?
@gembo, @unhurt
IKEA plywood flat-pack vegetables a good idea. Nicer to eat than Brüssels Sprøåðs.

@wingpig is that police officer cut out for the job?

Has anyone ever seen a WPC guarding a shop?

It's that word "could" again -
"
Met Office forecasters say an atmospheric event is taking place known as a Sudden Stratospheric Warming, which could mean it will stay cold in the weeks ahead.

(aka winter)

Oh more snow seems more wintery this year than last

A little ice on North Meadow Walk and the canal towpath this morning, but fairly easily avoidable. Light snow now falling at Heriot-Watt.
Posted 6 years ago # -
Heavier snow now falling. Rain forecasted for the rest of the day. I hope that it doesn't just snow instead of rain.
Posted 6 years ago # -
Strong winds - allegedly from south though they felt more like easterly in coldness on NMW. Glad I was keeping a low profile.
Posted 6 years ago # -
Aye that's my trip to the allotment postponed. Really strong gusts, and snow. Not much fun on a sit-up-and-beg.

Now sunny. Time to go outside and find some lunch I think.
Posted 6 years ago # -
boiler wouldn't fire yesterday morning, coming out nto probably say it needs a paert today. House baltic. Did have stove on so that kept back of house warm but had to watch Bladerunner 2049 under blanmket last night.

"Time to go outside and find some lunch I think."
You've got me worried you're about to go hunting for some wildlife to eat. What does kingfisher taste like?
Posted 6 years ago # -
