    A good friend of mine (who used to live here and others might know) is doing: the Dorset Dash' - that is, a *100 mile cycle ride* from *Oxford to Bournemouth, 30-31st July* and raising money for "*Duchess of Kent House*. It is a hospice, run partly by Macmillan Cancer Support and partly by the NHS, and offers palliative treatment to people with cancer" which he, sadly, knows well.

    There has been a suggestion of doing a Friday Night Coast to Coast, taking advantage of the narrow bit of Scotland.
