The signs for these roadworks are five miles from the actual holes in the ground. On the Lang Whang at the west calder turn or down near Carnwath at the auchengray turn. The west Calder diversion signs can be interpreted as actually leading you to the closed road and just before the closure there is a sign saying diversion ends.

I had a slight disagreement with the hole digger gaffer, he did not know the name of the road he was digging up (calla road that connects Woolfords to A704). I asked if I could push through the five holes he said no. I said could I please push through he said no. The please did get a laff from the hole diggers. I thought some things I didn't say and detoured along A704/706 to wilstontownthen Braehead and Carnwath where I was wanting to go. Yes apple pie bakery trip fornexpresso (that is what it says) and rhubarb pie. nearly tempted by double decker morning roll withntattie scone and scrambled eggs. a704/706 was fine but nice closed B roads would have been nicer.

Shut from 25.09.13 for six weeks

Was hoping to beat the 32 mph record through Woolfords as wind favourable and place quiet. This is recorded on the cut your speed sign. I have never risen above 30 as I am the lead out man
