On the aforementioned night, a few of us will be helping me rectify the frankly disgraceful and shameful situation whereby I've not been to Cloisters for years.

It's on Brougham Street, ie same stretch of tarmac as Melville Flamingocatwalk, only changing the name along the way, west end of the Meadows.

Same thing as a PY meet in terms of all-welcome-ness.

Is there an evening beer QR thingmy?

I had an exceedingly pleasant pint of peat stout there last week, along with some haggis wontons and fries that were spectacularly hot and crispy.

The Doctors has a new menu that is pretty good too (or at least the one thing i tried was). definitely a step up from previous offerings.

Cloisters is a great pub, always 6-8 real ales on tap - I have voted it 1st or 2nd whenever I have bothered to vote in the CAMRA pub of the year.

Good railings outside if you are velo-ing and you can 'get the bike up on the wall bit' and keep it in sight - handy.

Not sure if I am in edinburgh or down at my sisters, but will try and make it.

Well, it may lead to me getting onto the Sleeper a bit pissed or on the last train to Inverkeithing and wobbling down the A985. Both sound OK. I'll put it in the diary and see if any objections are raised.

UBERUCE! - We've already discussed the borrowing of the CCE mankini without asking...

It must be booked in advance, and laundered after use.

No no no, this is the bikini. It's PVC so just needs a rubbing with Milton and you can book it on the day.

I'm hoping to make it for a couple though I can't be out very late. Partly because I'm cream crackered, and partly because I have something on every evening this week and I'm away at the weekend.

I had some very agreeable beers last night but the pub we were in was out of Porters.

I am looking forward to finding a Porter, a Stout, a Black IPA or something else dark on offer tonight.

Truly knackered. If it was straight after work, I'd pop along for one and then promptly fall asleep but I'd never manage to hang about until 8pm.

Same here, I can't wait around until 8pm, esp on a week day. So sorry.

7 pints? That is a bit more than a few, I came through Tollcross at 7.30 ish and thought about it but had to get home, shame. Lucky tough as house very warm due to the oven being on at full pelt and no one there. heads will roll
