Cycle awareness training for Council Employees

Was in a cycle lane this morning heading East on Slateford Rd and a bus pulled up ahead of me. White van behind me was reluctant to let me out and while he did not hit me, pushed past sharpish once I'd passed the stationary bus.

I was mildly surprised when the van passed me as it turned out to be an Edinburgh Council vehicle.

Can't find an appropriate place to raise this with Edinburgh Council. It's not the first time I've noticed poor cycle awareness from council vehicles. This one was ST55 XHL, so give the driver a wave if you see it :-)

Maybe council drivers ought to go on the Lothian Buses course?

The Council has a complaints form on their website, which I've used "successfully" in these cases.

    CEC Comments Suggestions Complaints.

    funny you mention this
Had a white van up my rear yesterday (in the car!) on Dalkeith road
I slowed don and they eventually dropped back
Was surprised it was a council van when it passed me at the Commie
