I've noticed over the past few weeks that 'the council??' have started allowing their employees use the NEPN as a route to their various sites they need to cut the grass on. These things now go wizzing up the NEPN, flashing lights and taking up ~80% of the path width. Now so far they have been driven carefully slowing when around peds and cyclists, and pulling over where possible, but I don't like the precedent it sets. I think in a few years, these paths, once traffic free, could be short cuts for all council employees, wizzing here and there round the city.

What do you think? Am I being too critical?

If they're not mowing the side of the path, or areas only accessible by the path, then I wouldn't like it to be a precedent either. They are road legal in general (and if not can be driven there on the back of a Transit), so that's the best place for them to get from park to park, surely?

Speed limiting them is fine for pedestrians but just creates holdups of cyclists who find it hard to pass. It's also not fair on pedestrians, dog walkers, families with pushchairs etc. to be squeezed out the way as it tries to pass.
