    I recieved a comprehensive reply from one of my councillors when I inquired in the past about such a scheme in Edinburgh, summary being they carried out a study which showed such a scheme would require, even with sponsorship, a subsidy thus would not be brought forward.

    Like every other council service then...

    Where would we put boris bikes in edinburgh? You would want stations where people would abandon them half way up various hills?

    Yeah, I didn't realise the council was a profit-making venture.

    Now I'm wondering why I'm being asked to pay council tax... if everything they do has to pay for itself.
