Not sure how this would be enforced? unless its a simple measure to get ppl out of cars (It'll never happen here!) Plus lots of people who choose to live so far away from work they couldn't possibly be forced to cycle the ~2 miles !!!

    ;o)

The law also provides for the construction of a major new cycle route, upgrading of existing ones, the provision of cycle parking at public and private workplaces and other institutions, and cycle training in schools.

    As DaveC says -

    "It'll never happen here!"

I wish I could remember the name of the city I read about a few years ago (possibly in Brazil?) in which ALL motorised traffic is banned before 9.30am. Everybody walks or runs to work.

Yes I recell reading about that a few years ago in the Graniad or other. They stopped all traffic one day and just had busses to ferry people in.
