    Wow... The thought does cross my mind with increasing regularity that if the canal towpath became much busier with cyclists then it would quickly become a bit of a pain to navigate during commuting hours, which may well force me to consider road cycling instead. Hopefully not!

    The conclusion of this conference ‘Meer Fiets, Meer Ruimte’ (More cycling, more space) was that the bicycle has become so important in the Netherlands that it should take over the position of the car as the dominant means of transport when it comes to city planning and everything related to it.
