CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Shandwick Place is barely wide enough for a u-turn.....
Very silly. How much 'congestion' exists after 8pm and before 7am? Precious little. So why open Shandwick Place to traffic? Shopping? All the shops are shut. Pubs? Isn't drink driving illegal? Which leaves dropping off at Caledonian Hotel or visiting a lap dancing club. For this they need to open Shandwick Place to cars?
I would presume it is because Shandwick is less residential than the surrounding streets, so it's not really about accessing Shandwick and more about giving the residents around there a bit of peace at night...
"more about giving the residents around there a bit of peace at night"
Close both then...
(This was originally about Randolph Crescent.)
For delivery wagons?
Just close all roads to anything other than buses. Then people can't get their Waitrose food and John Lewis furniture and TVs delivered.

That'll be to sort the "utilities" they didn't sort last time...
then open again. then closed again to lay rails. then open again. then closed again to hang the catenary. then open again. then closed again or open again (to cars) dependending on time of day.
If you want an idea of what the new trame will be like head down to Croydon. I heard that Edinburgh have lent trams to Croydon to fill a gap. Can anyone confirm this? If so are we getting second hand trams too?
"I heard that Edinburgh have lent trams to Croydon to fill a gap"
Croydon didn't want them.
No-one else wants to buy them either.
Ah, Scotsman has the news... err... speculation.
"The council said pedestrian access to all areas would be maintained, with crossing points created where necessary, and clear signage in place for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians."
