    Hello,

first off apologies if this is your bike and I'm infringing privacy, however at some point when I win the lottery I'd love a better bike for going longer distances - I saw this outside OPD4 at the Hospital today - it's a thing of great beauty in my opinion... unmarked frame (reynolds 631 and carbon forks I think) is exactly what I want to build from - anybody have any ideas about it? My bike is behind - I feel bad about coveting another bike in its presence, maybe I'll treat it to some grease...

Depends if you're talking about an off-the-peg frame of that style, or a custom build, which this may well be.

There will be a big difference in price.

I've got a 725 steel frame on order from Spa (see http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s143p2828). It has good reviews and I have test ridden one made up. It's very comfortable, quick enough and surprisingly light.

Nice looking bike. The down tube doesn't look like it has a round cross section though. Is that possible with 631? I would find a black ITM Millennium stem to match the seat post though.

According to the Bob Jackson website, 631 comes in regular and oversized tubesets. It only comes as main tubes, the stays have to be from another part of the Reynolds family.

    Is the fork above Carbon?

Amir, a mate of mine also has that frame and forks on order from Spa. He is selling an old Holdsworth with rear facing dropouts on Ebay and because of the demand for fixed bike frames, he may to get what he paid for his new frame and forks!

@op (algo), nothing wrong in coverting another riders bike, so long as all you do is covert it... :D

thanks all for the info- I'll check those things out - the spa frame looks great, but I also quite like the planet x kaffenback as you can have disc brakes for it. I'm pretty sure the forks are carbon - here's a big picture:

@DaveC - thanks - is it ok if I covertly covet the bike? (Apologies - I am a pedant)
