    I'm going to a conference! Where's a good place near the conference centre to lock up my bike? Any recommendations?

    I went there yesterday and found four wee rack-ettes out the front of the building; a couple of lamposts across the road; some cyclist-crusher barrier fencing just down the hill; and a bit further away there's Festival Square but there doesn't seem to be anywhere more secure or reassuring.

    The EICC and conference sites are no help sadly ("For further advice on alternative modes of transport http://www.sestran.gov.uk").

    Any more ideas please? Or is that the lot?

    I was at a conference in the new venue when it first opened. No racks. Plenty of bikes chained to fence (building works not quite complete so area fenced off). Staff did say racks would be going in. Four isn't a lot. Where are they in relation to the two venues? Nothing down the side of either building?

    @cc, there's only those rack-ettes as you call them. It's actually five in front between the Centre and Atria Two entrances, another two close to the Atria One main entrance and ten close to the Atria One rear entrance in Conference Square.

    Thanks both. The four wee racks I spotted were in front of the Morrison St entrance to the conference centre. So there are more racks uphill near the 'Atria' buildings - I hadn't looked that way so thanks for that!
    I didn't see anything down the side or round the back, particularly, so I missed those ten racks somehow. Sounds like I should be OK then - thanks again.

    Down the side of the newer venue was where the staff were suggesting racks would go. Bet of luck

    There are 10 racks around the back of the Atria building and they are covered by the building overhang which is a nice bonus.

    @chrisfl: thanks, they'll be my first port of call in that case!

    @gembo : absolutely :)

    I found the racks behind "Atria One" (surely ungrammatical...) and they're good - well spaced, way under cover, and there are free racks. Thanks again.
