Leith bike thief...Forrest Road...CCTV from neighbouring shop?

Hope Bruce gets his bike back. I seriously think that cable locks should all come with a huge warning printed on them stating how insecure they actually are.

  4. DaveC - those were my first thoughts.

*adopts Karen Dunbar character voice from Chewin' The Fat*

"Help!Help! There's been a terrible accident! Someone's forgotten to allow comments on a cycling story in the EEN!"

The usual comments mob must be smashing their keyboards in a frothing rage since they can't have their daily whinge at cyclists :-)

  7. I'm afraid my Tweet about it was favourited by the Deputy Editor, so it's probably my fault. On the other hand, she's following me now so I can have a go at her for stoking up driver vs cyclist hatred.... ;-)

He seems to have just got back from NY.

Wonder if he noticed the bike lanes.

Nothing here about WHAT you use to lock your bike (or shed)

#edinburghprevention Don't just lock your shed or garage. Lock your bike to something inside before you lock the door! #edincyc

Strange, I thought old L&B police stopped doing bike marking as they didn't do crime prevention anymore?

They turn up at the University quite often to mark bikes - certainly they've been here this calendar year - I don't think that they do the stamping system any more, just a UV mark with film over it.

They were here the day the Uni were selling Master Lock U shackles for a tenner, giving advice and marking bikes.
