What odds on Keith Brown doing this?

Translink is owned by the Northern Ireland Executive and the Minister can require all its bus drivers to undergo this training. The Scottish Government doesn't own any bus companies and can't make any bus operator working in Scotland provide such training - as bus regulation and licensing are reserved to the UK Government.
So the answer is "none" - but he couldn't, even if he wanted to (which I doubt he does).

I meant get on a bike and be a moving crash test dummy for bus drivers, but you make a good point.
Perhaps I am being unfair - I've seen photos with Keith astride a bike, if not actually pedalling, and a suggestion on an old thread here that he *may* occasionally cycle. But a lot of my willingness to give him the benefit of the doubt went out the window with the Nice Way Code...

Sorry I misunderstood you there. My answer still stands though.

Lothian buses have such training I believe - they have some good videos on youtube as training for their drivers.
I like the fact the report shows a bus reversing down a cycle lane - is that part of the special training?

Yes indeed they do: LB bus training video

TO be fair, it was presumably being done as part of the day's publicity and at least there was somebody marshalling the bus at the back.
That said, Translink very much need training as they aren't exactly the greatest bunch around. They might also like to remember they actually have timetables to run to!
