Hi all, just thought I would let you all know, as its approaching rememberance time, about an activity that my youth group,( air cadets)did.
During the war, to help with the flying formations, and to increase, explain ,special awareness, the raf used to have newbie pilots on bikes practicing all their stuff ! We recently had our cadets do the same on a local park, lots of very unsuitable bikes, many too wee, or big,but absolutely huge grins, lots of laughing and the kids swapped bikes , just to see what they felt like .
Lots of very happy kids,(and us oldies !)and hopefully some going onward with bike maintenance courses. If I ever work out how to do it Ill post some pics !

That's a fantastic idea, Scott. I'm always looking for new and interesting things to do with my Guides so if you've got any information/links that you could share, could I be cheeky and ask that you PM me?

Actually, can I jump on this bandwagon and PM me too? I'm setting up a DofE silver/gold cycling expeditions and I'd love some ideas for teambuilding/bike handling.

    Cheers

Me too please! Starting to look at after-school cycling clubs locally in the spring so this sounds like a great activity.
