Do any of the Edinburgh shops sell top quality second hand bikes ? I've seen the odd second hand bike on sale but only occasionally. I'm very reluctant to either buy or sell through internet stuff like ebay etc.

depends what you mean by top quality?
    Soul cycle buys/sells
Are you worried about the 'quality' as in how the bike works and its condition
or are you looking for high end bikes?

The Bike Station sells some remarkably 'high end' bikes very occasionally - they have to have been donated.

Similarly Soul Cycles sell what people have sold them.

If you are looking for road bikes try -

EdUni has flagged up discarded bikes in the shelters for removal, so the Bike Station will have quite a few more bikes in stock soon, and judging by some that are flagged in the shelter I use, quite good quality

EddieD - could you give a wee nod when the discarded bikes disappear from the shelter please? It will give a bit of advance notice for visiting The Bike Station...

Also worth trying Eastside Bikes, they sometimes have good quality second bikes available. They had a nice Thorn a while back but it was too big for me.

Top quality as in high end road and cross bikes rather than commuting hacks. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

The cutoff date for the flagged bikes is the 24th of this month - the signs were attached on the 10th, with a fortnight's grace.

I'm away for a while, so I won't see what is moved.
