Hope there's a quick answer - there's only 4 1/2 weeks of autumn left...
Ha! at work we had an elf and safety conference call
the issue of leaves on paths(for employees out and about was raised)
it was stated we should phone the council and have them clear the leaves
So i guess we would be phoning every day?
All the leaves in Balerno blow up the street, swirl round outside my house then deposit themselves in my garden. This year this process has started but relatively light. Lot of leaves still on trees.
Once I was sweeping the leaves and found a very soggy fiver. This was many years ago but always a little tiny surge of expectation when I reach for the brush
"found a very soggy fiver"
By curious coincidence I did exactly that last night - on a pavement covered in leaves!!
Think I've only ever found paper money in the street once before.
I found a £20 near a chip van in Portree years ago. I never expect to find anything pleasant in wet leaves, apart from the wet leafy smell.
