    BBC Scotland short report

Maybe a thread on this already I can't see. Just came up on Radio Scotland before the Vic Galloway show. (He's just played the Ramones and now The Good the Bad and The Ugly).

This is the first time I've ever seen the police using cyclist video footage to charge someone. Annoying that they will charge a man eating cereal, but not another man dangerously driving and nearly knocking a cyclist over; but it's a start.

but it could be an entirely different cereal. the video isn't conclusive.

I read of a case in London where a driver was prosecuted on cycle cam footage - it is particularly interesting because the cyclist with the cam was not the victim of the bad driving and the cyclist who was the victim didn't give evidence.

I'll see if I can find the link.

    Edit: Blog post

  5. Magnatom had one that I think wound up with a truck driver being charged a couple of years ago. There's no hard and fast rule, though, on what the police will adn won't charge.

The cereal was bad; but I showed the police a video of a driver overtaking at speed in the city straight into my path coming the other way and after initial interest they then didn't even bother taking a copy of the video (after asking me to put it onto CD).

@WC - I used to know Vic when he was in the band Huckleberry with James Yorkston and Reuben Taylor, can't recall the forth member? They used to practice at the Inch. Reuben also used to work in the electrical shop on the Dalkeith Road, OMNI Electrics. Good lads one and all. Last time I bumped into James he was finding it hard coming to terms with life size posters of himself all over central Edinburgh.

Here's a link with a longer version of the video, where the registration plate is not blurred out.

For the avoidance of doubt, this absolute muppet is driving LF13 XEW.

Restricted view due to following a large coach onto a busy junction, being in charge of (but not in control of) 2.5 tonnes of Chelsea tractor, eating your cereal with your hands and steering with your knees? What could possibly go wrong?
