Does anyone have a copy of the Dutch Crow "Design Manual for Bicycle Traffic"?

Is this at all related to it being mentioned at the GoBike AGM last night...?

The GB Cycling Embassy have a copy but it's under heavy demand at the moment.

If you want to get some flavour of the stuff that's in there, Paul James of Pedestrianise London has done a series of posts taking principles from the Crow Manual and applying them to UK roads http://pedestrianiselondon.tumblr.com/ - if you click on the links on the right hand side (under cycleway provision for the experts) there's a lot of detail there. Also on Sustainable Safety, which is the wider road safety approach the Dutch use.

Isn't it on-line? Could have sworn I'd seen a link to a digital version.

I've had a rummage. It's locked by copyright to just printed versions, which retail at around €90. See here.

I'm tempted to order a copy for my own interest, for CCG, and because the feedback from Glasgow's chief of cycling last night was that we're going to be stuck with Cycling By Design unless someone aggressively puts forward another option.

Anyone else want a copy? Sharing postage and all that...

Not a copy of the CROW manual itself, but found a link here:

to the Irish National Transport Authority's own 'National Cycle Manual' (apparently made with help of Dutch consultants, and based on Sustainable Safety principles). See:

The authors of Cycling by Design are well aware of the contents of the CROW manual - it is listed in the bibliography. I'm almost certain that any approach to Transport Scotland on updating Cycling by Design to meet the superior standards in the CROW manual would be answered along the lines of "The contents of the CROW manual have helped inform the content of Cycling by Design. However, Cycling by Design has been developed to meet the requirements of Scotland's vastly different topography and legal frameworks".

    i.e. thanks, but no thanks.
